The Bedford Book of Genres is a great asset to have for students who tend to struggle in english and the work done in the class. The 7th chapter is especially great because it helps with one of the toughest things in the class, the research paper. It covers the topic of sources. The authors show you how you can incorporate that into your paper. For example, there are a plethora of examples from quotes to summarizing a source. Although these steps may seem boring, and yes they are, they are also essential because if you do not quote right or if you do something incorrectly, not only can you get points taken off; you can also get in trouble for plagiarism. Pay very close attention to detail.
